Bristol Interview Skills Course

South West Medical Education is run by two senior doctors from Bristol with a long term interest in medical education and training. We understand Modernising Medical Careers and the new application process to Specialty and GP Training. We can maximise your chance of success of entering the specialty and Deanery of your choice. This course is specifically designed for these interviews.

The day will be hard work and intensive. The course will start promptly at 9am and finish about 4.30pm. Please arrive in good time - there will be coffee and tea available from 8.30am. There will be plenty of rest breaks through the day, with full catering, including an excellent lunch and coffee and tea throughout. We will be giving you a mixture of up to date information in our comfortable lecture theatre, and interview practice in break out rooms. The day will cover:

  • The application and interview process
  • Structure of the NHS and recent changes
  • Audit and Research
  • Team work and leadership skills
  • Poorly performing colleague issues
  • Organisational skills
  • Interview technique
  • Practice Interviews

We know that many of you will have had little experience in being interviewed. However we have (and much experience in interviewing) and we will help you maximise your potential. This is a crucial step in your career - use us to help you get onto the training ladder!
